Remove Categories from appearing on post front/photos

On the front of each post on my main page the categories appear above the title overlaying the photo. I want to remove these. Seems sort of redundant to me anyway as I have a category list on the right side people can choose from and will just make and overall better look. Any help is appreciated but I am not a coder so try to keep it simple if possible – Thank you.
