I have folders that were all caps and I was having issues. I changed them to lower case and they are still showing upper case in Media Library Folders. I have removed the plugin and re installed and the folders show upper case still. how can I fix this? How can I change the case/folders.

The media library is a database and not a live picture of the files in the server. Thus changing the names of the folders does not affect the data stored in the database. The correct way to rename folders is to create new folders and copy the files from the old folder to the new ones. Then delete the old folders.

If the old folders not longer exist, in Media Library Folders, delete the files in the folders and then delete the folders. This will update the database. Then to add the new folders, click the Check for new folders option in the menu. After the new folders are added, visit each new folder and click the sync buttons to add the files to the media library.

IF I make new folders and move the thousands of images will it re-right the links/urls?

    Thanks.

Yes, it should. Test moving a file and check the link before moving lots of files to be sure there is no issue with update links on your site.

no luck. when I make a new folder and then subfolder and move the images, URLs/Links don’t change. FYI I use Beaver builder so that may also be interfering.

Also now none of the images don’t show any thumbnails. I would just re-do all but it took months of work to do all these images and all there titles, descriptions etc… plus there linked in galleries, woocommerec, lots of places.

I don’t see how I can upload a screenshot to show what I see. Its a mess. I have uninstalled the plugin and re installed it and same issues.

Now I am having gateway timeouts and its not responding. This is one thing I like about Joomla, the images folder and structure is normal, wordpress is a mess when it comes to this…

For moving images in Beaver Builder, we spent some time working on this. I found that after moving an image, it is necessary to edit the page or post containing the image and resave or republish it. There seems to be some cache involved that is not updated when the image link is changed.

But I know it would not be easy to edit and republish all your pages, but we were not able to find any better solution.

If you wish to reinstall the plugin, you first have to run the Media Library Folders database reset to clear out the old folder data.

If you have a recent backup of your site, you could apply that to resolve your current issues.
