  • What branding are you referring to exactly?

    Thing is, if you use any plugins, or probably even without, a semi-knowledgeable person can still tell your using wordpress just by viewing your source code

    Hmm..

    By removing ‘branding’ if you mean removing the WordPress credit links at footer, you are allowed to do so.

    WordPress is an open source software which allows users to remove any credits or links on default.
