  • Hi there @machi – thanks for reaching out to us.

Note that you can actually disable the Gutenburg from your Popup editor. You can check out this demo screen recording from my test site -> https://share.getcloudapp.com/2Nuw8knD You can try that and hope this works for you.

If that helps, then we would very much appreciate it if you could quickly rate the plugin, just to help us spread the word.

Otherwise, for us to assist you further with your issue, you will need to escalate it directly to our HelpScout support desk. Check out this link: https://wppopupmaker.com/support/ Thank you.

    Hello Maria,

thanks for your answer. I was able to locate this option in settings but strange thing is it does not seem to work. The “Popup Controls” setting is displayed no matter if I switch “Enable Block Editor Support” off or on :(.

    Thanks, Jakub

We are sorry for this inconvenience @machi.

Do you have any caching plugin active on your website? If yes, could you please try to purge/clear caching and browsers cache to see if that fixes the issue? You can also try to deactivate it temporarily from your end to see if that helps as well.

Or, you can check this using a different browser or in incognito mode to see if the issue still occurs.

Furthermore, you can try to disable asset caching under your Popup Maker > Settings > Misc and check it again if that helps you solve the problem. You can also check out this demo screencast to make it more clear for you: https://share.getcloudapp.com/2NuyW0qE

    Keep us posted.

    Hello Maria,

sorry for a late answer. There is no caching plugin at the moment. I also tried to switch off asset caching but it’s still there :(.

I’d be ok with purchasing a paid option, but I’m not sure that would help.

I also tried to search for some hook allowing to disable Gutenberg meta info but with no luck.

    Thanks, Jakub

    Hello @machi

    Thank you for getting back!

I viewed the screenshot you have provided in the original message. I believe WordPress controls the blocks on the editor. The option on the Popup Maker is while editing the popup and not the page/post. Apologies, but Popup Maker doesn’t have the option to disable it while using Gutenberg.

It seems the only option you can use to remove the popup controls is by using the Classic Editor plugin. Once you have used the classic editor and force the site to use it, the controls will not be available.

    Please see:

I hope that helps. If this fixes the issue, please could you take a moment to rate and review the plugin.
If you still need help please message us directly at https://wppopupmaker.com/support/
