    Hi there!

I’m wondering if it’s possible with this theme to remove the background image so that the menu/footers etc show up full screen. I want them to touch the sides of the window. I’m not a huge fan of the grey bars (background image) on the left and right edges of my content.

    Let me know! Thanks!

I attempted to change the values of padding in the editor for .page and .site and that didn’t work.

    HELP!!!

What is the URL of your site?

It’s currently under construction but it’s visible on the sela theme (https://wordpress.com/themes/sela/). It’s just the grey borders on the left and right edges surrounding the content.

Sela is designed as a fixed-width theme, and the background colour you’re referring to is only visible on larger screens. Depending what a user’s screen width is, they may see more, less, or none of the background colour. To modify the theme so it’s wider or no longer fixed-width would require some substantial tweaks both to CSS and functions to resize elements like featured images, and might make also the main column too wide to read comfortably on larger screens. I don’t recommend it.
