Hi jeanbon75,
Thank you for your questions! Here’s how you can address them:
1. How to remove a student from a course?
There are two ways to remove a student from a course:
- Option 1 (Recommended):
Since you’re using LearnPress with WooCommerce via the premium WooCommerce Add-on for LearnPress, you can remove a student by changing the order status linked to the course. For example, change the order status to anything other than “Completed” (e.g., “Canceled,” “Refunded,” etc.) in the WooCommerce Orders. This action will revoke the student’s access to the course, and they will need to purchase it again to regain access.
- Option 2 (Not Recommended):
You can manually unassign the student from the course:
- Navigate to LearnPress > Tools > Assign/Unassign Course.
- Select the course and the student you want to unassign from that course. However, this method is not recommended because it does not create a record of the order and makes it harder to manage assigned/unassigned courses.
2. Will changing the WooCommerce order status to “Refunded” or “Canceled” detach the student from the course?
Yes, changing the order status to “Refunded” or “Canceled” will remove the student’s access to the course.
- Progress Data:
The student’s course progress will depend on the Repurchase action setting in the course.
- If you select Keep course progress in Course Settings > Repurchase action, the student’s progress will be saved.
- If you select Reset course progress, the student’s progress will be reset.
When you change the order back to “Completed,” the student will regain access to the course:
- If progress was kept, they can continue from where they left off.
- If progress was reset, they will start the course from the beginning.
