Remarketing cookies

    Hi,

    I use Google Smart Shopping, which also uses remarketing.
    Before, I didn’t use ip anonymization and saw the remarketing cookie in the list (in Paragraph 6 of the generated cookie document).

    Now I use ip anonymization and I can’t seem to find it under paragraph 6: https://rvshuisnummers.nl/cookiebeleid-eu/.
    Somehow, these cookies aren’t shown in the generated cookie policy.

    Can the ip anonymization be the cause?

    Hi @bufsan,

    Under the AdSense service I noticed the _gcl_au cookie, the function of that cookie seems to match your remarketing description. Do you perhaps know the name of the cookie/service that you would say is missing from the list?

    I would recommend the steps below:

    – Visit the front-end of your site, make sure that your browser allows all cookies (& no adblocking extensions activated) and click Accept All in the banner to have the cookies set in your browser.
    – Navigate to Complianz > Wizard > Cookies > Cookie scan and run a new cookie scan. Upon completion, make sure to navigate to the Cookie Descriptions page and click “Sync with Cookiedatabase” here.

    If new services/cookies were detected, they should now appear on your Cookie Policy.

    Hi @jarnovos ,

    Bet this was an easy question for you due to the website being in Dutch, correct ;)?

    I followed the steps you described, and now it also added: https://cookiedatabase.org/cookie/google-adsense/google_adsense_settings/

    Think the issue is solved, but somehow strange this wasn’t added automaticly with the 30 day automatic recrawl. Thanks for your help.

    Hey @bufsan,

    Glad to hear the remaining service has now been added to the list. And yes, this does make things a lot easier for me ??

    The plugin will detect when a new service/plugin/script is added to the site, but there are some additional checks before it finally adds these to the Cookie Policy. Detected items will be added to the Cookie Policy after some time passes, but a manual “Sync with CookieDatabase” will do it right away.
