• Michael Simpson @msimpson any chance you could relist Contact Form DB as a paid plugin so it was worth your time/effort? I made donations in the past because it is a vital plugin for me…and as others have mentioned, I have not found a suitable alternative that does what Contact Form DB can do.

If Contact Form DB won’t be relisted, does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative to it…have not had much success with similar plugins.

  • This is an open source plugin. Michael has been very generous with his work here. It obviously was a labor of love but the recent run in with WordPress took the love out of it.

What can be done: Those of us who can code can fork the project and continue developing it. Mr. Simpson is not going to. He has kept the project up on github. We just need to fork it and get organized around updating it.

Unfortunately people do not have vision like Mr. Simpson had in making this. We need more integrative interfaces like this. It is a brilliant concept. This is fantastic for forms applications. We need one for schedulers and for invoice apps. More integrative interface tools like this would really open up creative possibilities in wordpress development.

I would love to work with a team to keep this going but I cannot and should not do it alone. I can code and get the work to happen but I am not as well rounded in my knowledge as I would like. A team helps make up for this. There are security issues involved here that apparently Mr. Simpson does not see as worth tackling alone. If we get a group together divide up the work in a project tree it will probably be more manageable. Who else wants to join in the project?

FYI: you can get setup to get the plugin from GitHub.com. See top post on https://cfdbplugin.com/

I’ll accept pull requests on GitHub
