    Hi there,
I’m really impressed by what your plugin is offering to the community for free. That’s why I’m wondering (since you’re a search expert) if you would rate your plugin as being equally powerful to a paid solution like searchwp?

Since I’m running a small server – performance is crucial and the paid plugin will eat up lots of server resources to run properly.

So in case you know this other plugin – I’d be really interested in your opinion regarding server performance & results of Relevanssi.

Relevanssi is not particularly kind for the server: it’s quite resource-heavy. Since it’s free, though, you can always give it a go and see if it works for you.

If performance is crucial, I suggest you forget both Relevanssi and SearchWP, and instead look for external services like AddSearch or Swiftype, as those won’t add any load on your server since all the heavy processing – which is pretty much mandatory, you can’t do a light search that is also good – is done elsewhere.

    Ahh – I see now.
The mechanics behind the scenes rely on the same principles and generating good results requires resources – I get it now.
Thank you for your detailed explanation Mikko!

btw: I try to read your blog but too bad I don’t speak finnish ??
