Relevanssi showing unidentified emails

  • Hi guys. I’m using the free version on Relevanssi searcher. It’s a great pluging even with a free version.

    My question is related with the search console installed in my website, which uses Relevanssi. A colegue specialist in security wrote “@” in the console and suddenly appeared a list of unidentified emails. I deleted the cache and it happened again, be it in chrome or firefox, the mails keep showing.

    My question is: have you had a similar case? it is related with Relevanssi plugin? or is something else I have to figure out? I am missing some security configuration?

    I’ve never heard of anything like this, so I have no idea what this is all about. I’d need to see this to be able to say much more about this.

    Anyway, I can assure you it’s not Relevanssi, because Relevanssi doesn’t do anything with email addresses – unless those addresses appear in your post content, in which case Relevanssi does index them like any other content.

    You can try deactivating plugins one by one to see if this behaviour is caused by one of them.

    Here is an image which shows the suggested results as emails, with the “@” written at the console. Do you have any thoughts?

    The other thing is that this only occurs at Firefox and Chrome, this is not happening in Edge.

    Ok, I thought you were talking about the browser console, but you’re talking about the search.

    Where is that dropdown coming from? Relevanssi doesn’t have a dropdown like that, so it’s not from Relevanssi. Are you using a third-party live search plugin or is it built-in in your theme?

    Does everyone doing the search get the same suggestions? Do you get the same emails on different browsers or different computers? Do you have any idea where those emails might be coming from? If this has anything to do with Relevanssi, those emails would have to be somewhere on your site.
