Relevance of 'Broken Themes?'
-
My blogging partner and I moved from Blogger to WP.org a few months ago because of my daughter’s web design assignment. She chose JuicyRoo 1.2 as the theme and worked with her teacher to set things up. We were mortified to realize near the end of the semester that the teacher was not much more tech-savvy than we are… which is NOT AT ALL!!!
From the beginning of the switch, we have felt disjointed and are now trying to decide if maybe we’re just too tech-stupid to work in WP.
Before we decide what to do, I’m trying to figure out if we’re goofed up in the basic set-up. On the Manage Themes page, there is a note under Broken Themes: The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template. NAME is ‘suitelife,’ and DESCRIPTION is ‘Stylesheet is missing.’
For what it’s worth, the name of our blog is The Suite Life of Lucy and Ethel. I guess ‘Name’ refers to the blog with the broken theme and not the theme itself?
(I have linked to our blog in hopes that someone can look at it and see something evident – and easy to fix!)
What does ‘Broken Theme’ mean? If it affects function in any way, how can we fix it? There are some things we aren’t able to do with the blog now, and we don’t know if it’s due to the particular theme or the fact that it’s ‘broken’ somehow.
Thanks for the help! Once we get this settled, I’ll know what other questions to ask!
