I am about to release my first WordPress theme, but I am a bit apprehensive. I’d pretty sure I’ve sorted everything on the theme but can’t be certain. Still got to sort that gallery css sheet issue.

What is the expectation for a release, that it is 100%, or just that it is stable?

Also I’d like a bit of advice as to how to release it. I’d prefer a download from a page on my site, on which I would offer a theme preview. This seems to be the preferred method (with some advertising) and I’m not sure I like the idea of using the official theme site (not yet anyway).

You can see the theme on my site : not a sheep

I’d appreciate any feedback and advice from old-time WP themers.

    Thanks,

    BC

  • I’m not a themer, but I can say it looks like very warm theme and it’s ok.
Yet, I believe there’s to much empty space on your right,
before calendar. Maybe you should place some word, like sidebar, or calendar,
before calendar. Can’t really visualise it, but also, calendar might be better with
    border lines.

Very impressive! I get a horizontal scroll (hate that, a pet peeve) with a 1024 resolution, maybe you’ll want to fix that.

Thank you both for the feedback.

I will address the space issue in the sidebar as it is too spread out in general and hopefully that will help with the space above the calendar, although I suppose just adding a title would help a lot.

I didn’t really design for 1024 by 768 screens as this seems a bit small, but, as it happens, it’s only over by a few pixels so I think this can be sorted out. Thanks for pointing it out, because I didn’t think of how it’d look in lower resolutions.
