Rel=canonical issues – Site not indexable

Your canonical link is fine and is correct for your site. Your site is being indexed by Google just fine, type site:blog.macronimous.com into Google search and you’ll see results for just your site. This seems to be a false error reported by SEO Doctor.

Thanks a lot for looking at my issue.

I get the same problem indicated by Moz.com analyics too for these pages:

https://blog.macronimous.com/flat-design-less-framework-wordpress

and 43 other page (mostly under /tag ). The issue reported by them is:

“Duplicate Page Content
Content that is identical (or nearly identical) to content on other pages of your site forces your pages to unnecessarily compete with each other for rankings.

Using rel=canonical suggests to search engines which URL should be seen as canonical.”

Could that be false too?

Our over traffic has been gone done very much, and I suspect various issues and can’t this be the one too?

Content in Tags archives is not duplicate content. Google does not consider this as duplicate content and in fact Tags are usually good for SEO because it helps visitors find related content.

Yes, Tags are certainly welcome, But I still afraid that the bots might consider it as duplicates. Are you sure that I can ignore it? Can’t we apply rel=canonical anyway?

I can tell you that Google understands how WordPress structures content and that there are multiple ways to get the same content (blog page, singular post, category archives, tag archives, date archives, author archives). Google does not consider this duplicate content. These are just methods by which WordPress structures content which is good and which Google likes. I believe Matt Cutts from Google wrote an article about this and about how canonical URLs such as those that All in One SEO Pack and WordPress generate help them.
