relay notifications to mailing list

We use an MU WordPress installation with users constantly signing up and off. MU WordPress user management is awful so maintaining different user roles users across different wordpress blogs is not really an option for email notifications. However, we maintain a mailing list. Is there a way to relay the notification to an email address (which is connected to our mailing list)? I don’t see an email field in the notification setup screen.
