Relaxation-Theme – Multilingual

  • I’ve just updated my WordPress-Theme Relaxation. It is now completely using the built-in gettext()-function and can easily translated to other languages by modifying the *.po-file.

    It would be great if someone could translate the language-file in his native language, so that I can add it to the package and make it useful for more and more people. If you have questions regarding this issue, don’t hesitate to contact me.

  • Personally I have a preference and often advocate for the_excerpt in any archive type listing… because the common sense would require that option.
    However, as a distinguished professor of mine used to say: the least common is the common sense.

    Personally I keep using the excerpt function, no question. But for all others: I’ve changed the archive.php.

    So Simon, you could download the package again. ??

    But I hope that the next posting won’t be: “Hey Jowra, the postings in the archive are shown up with links and images. Thats not the way the archive should look like!” ??

    Oh btw. Magma has written a language file for the netherlands. The dutch nl_NL.mo is now included in the theme. Thank you Magma! =)

    Hey John,
    Love your theme! I am having an issue with extra categories not displaying in the side bar.

    I’ve created extra categories via the admin, but they do not show up in the sidebar at all. Only the default ‘uncategorized’ shows up.

    Just caught something else.

    When I log into my admin, the following errors are displayed on top (this occured after I re-installed your theme Relaxation 2.0 (just before that I was using the one from couple of days ago):

    Cheero, I never heard of problems with the categories so far. I’ve really tested the new theme a lot but I didn’t have noticed any problems with that. I’ll have a look at it.

    The second one: Did you’ve changed the wp-config.php ? Look for the line:

    define ('WPLANG', '');

    and change it to:

    define ('WPLANG', 'en_US');

    this should eliminate the warnings. As explained earlier, multilanguage-themes need this clear declaration of the language. For all english-speaking people, this is one more thing to set, but all others have the possibility to easy setup an translated version of this theme. I think thats worth the effort. ??

    Did you find time to go over and upgrade the 3-Col Relaxation Theme?

    I’m currently using it in 1.5 and would like to upgrade to WP2.0.X.
