Because I don’t use Featured Images in posts, according to Jetpack’s info, the first image is supposed to be pulled. Instead, I’m getting random images.

Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?
If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

Now the plugin appears to be showing not random images, but the LAST image of each post. Bizarre.
Thanks for the link! I had a look at your site, and noticed the issue as well. Could you try reindexing your posts? You can follow these steps to do so:
- Navigate to Dashboard > Jetpack.
- Scroll to the bottom, and click the “Debug” link.
- Scroll to the bottom once again, and click the “Reindex Posts” button.
It will take some time for the posts to fully reindex, but check to see if the issue persists after a few hours. If it does, could you try setting a Featured Image for one of your posts, just as a test?
Let me know how the above works for you, and we can go from there!
Okay, I’ll give it a shot. Thanks, Ryan.
You bet! Let me know how it goes.
OH, wow, hey. I just opened Jetpack, and:
There seems to be a problem with your site’s ability to communicate with Jetpack!
It looks like your site can not communicate properly with Jetpack.

____________________________________Trouble with Jetpack?
It may be caused by one of these issues, which you can diagnose yourself:1. A known issue. Some themes and plugins have known conflicts with Jetpack – check the list. (You can also browse the Jetpack support pages or Jetpack support forum to see if others have experienced and solved the problem.)
2. An incompatible plugin. Find out by disabling all plugins except Jetpack. If the problem persists, it's not a plugin issue. If the problem is solved, turn your plugins on one by one until the problem pops up again – there's the culprit! Let us know, and we'll try to help.
3. A theme conflict. If your problem isn't known or caused by a plugin, try activating Twenty Twelve (the default WordPress theme). If this solves the problem, something in your theme is probably broken – let the theme's author know.
4. A problem with your XMLRPC file. Load your XMLRPC file. It should say “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.” on a line by itself.
- If it's not by itself, a theme or plugin is displaying extra characters. Try steps 2 and 3.
- If you get a 404 message, contact your web host. Their security may block XMLRPC.Ah, that’s interesting! I suspect that connection error could be responsible for (or at least related to) the trouble you’ve been having with Related Posts.
Could you please try disconnecting and then reconnecting Jetpack to WordPress.com?
To do so, navigate to Dashboard > Jetpack. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Disconnect from WordPress.com” link. After doing so, click the “Connect to Get Started” button to reconnect.
Please let me know when you have done so, and I will check that your connection is working properly on our end.
I shall.
Okay. I’m “fueled up and ready to go”….
That’s good to hear! Could you try reindexing your posts, as I mentioned above? Then, give it a few hours, and see if the issue persists.
I did, and it still said “Indexing request queued and waiting…” after a couple of hours. So I’ve tried again. Jetpack also still says: “It looks like your site can not communicate properly with Jetpack.”
I have already tested all my plugins and switched themes (2012); none are the culprit that I can see.
It sounds like there is still an error with Jetpack’s connection on your site. Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?
1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
2) Click on “Help” tab in the upper right side of the page and click the link for “Jetpack Debugging Center.”
3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
4) Fill in the description box, your name and email address, and include a link to this thread.
5) Click the “Contact Support” button.Once we receive those results, we can see what’s going on with your connection.
Thanks again!
Okay, thanks Ryan!
