  • Hey Bruce,

I have replied to your email but if you wish, we can continue the discussion here.

Thanks for your response. In answer to the questions in your email, no, I have not changed anything about the plugin – not sure I would know how. My theme has been active and working fine for a couple of months and I decided to try the Related Posts plugin. Initially I couldn’t figure out how it worked – it took a while to realize I had to switch out of Visual Composer to even see the interface.

In the meantime, I had installed the JetPack set of plug ins which also has a similar plugin. Your product noticed that I had it installed. Long story short, there was a conflict and so I deactivated both plugins and gave up. That’s when I noticed that even after deletion/deactivation, the blog summary had disappeared altogether and could not be shown. I tried reinstalling your plugin for this latest post, found some related posts and connected them to my post as per instructions. When I went to the index page, all I see is the related posts.

From my experience with the first post, removing the related articles does not restore my blog summary. It just leaves the whole thing blank, except for the title. See the second blog entry on the site:

I think for the moment I will leave things intact.

    Hey Bruce,

thanks for getting back to me with such detailed explanation – I really appreciate it!
I have talked to my colleagues about this and they came up with an idea how to fix your issue:
After you have written your post and inserted those articles switch to “text” mode and in the

    <h3 class=”zemanta-related-title” style=”margin: 0 0 10px 0; padding: 0; clear: both;”>Related articles</h3>

code replace the <h3></h3> with <div></div>.
I made a screenshot for easier navigation.

This should do the trick but please bear in mind that this is only a workaround not a fix. I am also aware that now it will take you more time to publish your posts and I apologize for the inconvenience but at the moment I believe there is no better solution.

Please let me know how it goes! I’m keeping my fingers crossed ??

    Best,
    Petra

Thanks for your help, but unfortunately, this does not work either. I have made the code change you suggested, but the blog index page is still showing the related post titles.

Hmmm…to be completely honest, we are running out of ideas :/

Is there a chance you could send us your WP Dashboard’s credentials, so that we could investigate further? We can completely understand if you’re not comfortable sharing this with us, but I’m afraid this might be the only viable solution right now, since we cannot replicate this on our side. It also goes without saying that your privacy is to our up-most concern, after which we will take all the extra precaution possible.

Let us know what you think and we’ll do our best to help you out!

Take care & have a nice day!

Thanks for your help. I’ll let this drop for the time being. My theme provider has pretty awesome support and I might ask their opinion. The problem may be with the theme.

    OK.
And if you can find the time to keep me informed of what happens I would really appreciate it!

    Best,
    Petra
