[NSFW] Related Posts not showing up

    Hey there,

    I have connected the site to Jetpack and can add the Related Posts block. When in the editor, it has placeholders “preview not available” – not sure whether that’s normal or not. But on the front-end no posts are visible. They should appear under the main content.

    I have:

    • Disconnected/reconnected Jetpack
    • Cleared Kinsta cache
    • Made sure that the Related Posts toggle in the settings is on
    • Run JP debug without issues

    I have added password protection to the frontend, you can enter “thenewqx” in both fields to view it.

    Seeing placeholders like “preview not available” in the editor for the Related Posts block can be normal if there are no immediate data to display. However, if the Related Posts aren’t showing up on the front end, we need to look into it further.

    Keep in mind that Jetpack needs the site to be publicly available to be able to activate many of its features, so it’s also possible that Related Posts won’t work until your site isn’t fully and publicly available online.

    That said, I accessed your site, and I can see some related posts at the end of this posts, for example.

    I still also see a 401 Authorization Required error when checking the connection issue, which needs to be addressed by the Kinsta folks (allow-listing our IPs range and checking for blocks and caching/security software are the first steps).

    Can you double-check these and let me know what you find out? Thanks!

    Hi Stef,

    Kinsta whitelisted the IPs. I now get the placeholders in the editor, where before I didn’t. That would make me think that the whitelisting is done correctly. Is my thinking correct?

    Because unfortunately I still cannot get the posts to show on the frontend. I checked a bunch of posts, all in incognito. The heading that is within the block is Related stories (Jetpack) so it’s easily indentifyable if it does show up.

    My understanding is that posts won’t show when there are less than 3 good results. But this post for example is in a category with 60 others, so I wouldn’t expect that to be it. https://stg-newqx-staging.kinsta.cloud/2024/04/studland-soho-pride-2024-at-here-at-outernet-saturday-29-june/

    Please can you advise further steps we can take in the hopes the related posts show up?
