Related Posts not longer related

  • Hi Ajay,

    Have been using your great plugin for a few years now. However, recently noticed my related posts are no longer showing posts that are contextual or actually related to a post.

    Instead, I am seeing repeated posts in my ‘Related Reads’ section such as the Arranged Marriage Stories post.

    1) In this example, I even see the same post in the Related list as the actual main post.

    2) This should show many stories on criminals as Related posts.

    instead, it shows:

    3) We have many stories related to this actress:

    But instead I see:

    I have switched off cache, which was on before in the settings and even re-created the index via the setting page.

    But still, the results are not very ‘related’.

    This use to work great before but not sure what has changed in your recent updates that have impacted the context.

    Please advise.

    Hi Ajay,

    After posting the issue. I made a few tweaks to the settings.

    I switched off cache and also unticked

    Therefore, using the titles only seems to find a better match of related posts.

    So, the results will be different now from the screenshots shown above.

    Please check and provide any other information on improving results.

    I use WP-Rocket as a caching plugin.

    My experience has usually been the title only giving good matches as you’re keeping it more specific. But it depends on the site content.

    Another option to work is to include my add-on CRP Taxonomy and that helps bring relevance with tags and categories as well.
