Related posts ignoring exclude

Hi @colinsp, sorry YARPP isn’t working as expected. I just double-checked and the “disallow by category” feature is still working in my setup. So there’s something specific to your setup that’s causing it to not work.

Could you please send me the URL of a site that’s related to that “website type” post?

Also, could you please copy-and-paste the YARPP debug info into this thread by

1. From WordPress admin dashboard, under “Settings” click “YARPP”
2. Click “Help” in the top-right corner
3. Click “Optional Data Collection” tab on the left
4. Copy all the monospaced text

hi @colinsp, thanks the debug info was helpful. I think I see the issue. You’re using the YARPP widget to add the related posts which means it will appear everywhere on your site that widget area appears.
The easiest way to have YARPP’s related content to only be displayed on specific post types is from the YARPP settings page, in the “Automatic Display Options” area, beside “Automatically Display Related Content on:”, and check all the post types you want it to appear for. Does that make sense?

I didn’t get notified of your reply so have only just seen this. I am currently trying to view the screenshot that you linked without success. I will try on a different PC to see what you are suggesting so at the moment I am not sure that this is actually resolved.
