    hi,

I did think that this was a YARPP problem, but after deleting and reinstalling it, the problem still exists.

Earlier today I deleted two posts, but links to them are still showing in my related posts.

I’ve not only cleared the cache, but reset the hypyerlinks too.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jane

  • Did you check the WP cache? or the plugins cache? I just checked their site, and it does seem to have one. Their site also says:

“Please go to the Related Posts (YARPP) options page and either build the cache or turn on the “compute related posts on the fly” option.”

So it seems that you can either re-build the YARPP cache after you delete posts, or enable the option to compute them on the fly, which should prevent deleted posts from showing up, although it may increase CPU usage. It just depends on how often you are deleting posts. If not often, I would just get YARPP to re-build its list after.

    thanks Dagon Design

I rebuilt the cache but it didn’t help.

This seems to be a permalink problem because if I use the default permanlink setting then everything works.

What is strange (to me anyway) is that when I use a pretty permalink all but 5 of my links work.

I have rewritten my .htaccess and if I search for the bad link in mydatabase it’s not there.

I will mark this as resolved and have posted it here ..

perhaps use the rebuild permalink structure option in WP?

I know that setting default and then going back to pretty is supposed to reset it.

    Is there another way?

And thanks for the continuing help,

I did resolve this eventually by meticulously going through the database until I found the link.

I renamed it, and the site no longer has any broken links.

Why oh why does WordPress keep every revision of every post, with no obvious way of deleting them?!
