Reinstall theme

    I have a website designed using modernize theme. When the site was uploaded to the hosting server some of the home page editing tools were not included and I am not able to make any changes to the home page.

    I plan to replace the current version of the modernize theme with a new purchased copy so that I will be able to edit the home page. I know that the current version will have to be uninstalled first but I have not been able to find any information on this procedure. Would any body be able to advise me in this matter?

    Will there be any affect on any of the installed widgets or any affects on the current appearence of the site?
