Regular/Sale Price Issue – Showing Both Same Value

I’m having an issue with the mini-cart’s regular/sale price amounts displayed. For a $20.00 item it shows the regular price (strikethrough) and sale price with the same value. That’s great when there is a sale but in this case there is not. We are entering in an amount in the regular price field only. Nothing is entered in the sale price field but it still displays with the strikethrough/sale format.
It does not happen on product page’s price, next to the add-to-cart button. Only in the mini cart, and the View Cart page’s amounts.
For items that are on sale, it works as it should in all areas where amounts are displayed.
Does anyone have an idea for why this would be happening or the correct way to troubleshoot it?
