    Hello,

Building a new WP membership site. Am looking into several user registration plugins and found RegistrationMagic after looking at another Metagauss plugin, ProfileGrid. I need user registration and MailPoet integration, but some of the profile features may be useful at a later date.

    1. How do these two plugins differ?
    2. Do I need to first install/set-up RegistrationMagic before ProfileGrid?
    3. Does ProfileGrid work as a standalone registration plugin?

    Your insights are appreciated!

    Hi @commontater,

RegistrationMagic is a user registration form builder plugin while ProfileGrid is a user profile management plugin. RegistrationMagic’s focus is more towards building great user registration forms and registration related analytics. ProfileGrid focuses more on enhancing the profile management part after registration, such as profile groups. Both the plugins can be used standalone, however, they work best when used together. Also, there is no requirement to install one before the other.

Let me know if you have any other questions on these plugins.

Thanks for this clarification. I have been working with RegistrationMagic on my site, and have had good luck so far with the free version. Does RegistrationMagic have a MailPoet addon?

I need a bit more information to make RegistrationMagic work.

I purchased a license for RegistrationMagic, and then also installed the other plugin from Metagauss, ProfileGrid (free version) to take advantage of the profile features.

I am using the RegistrationMagic login/registration forms, not ProfileGrid, since I already had those set up. Then I installed the MailPoet addon for ProfileGrid.

My registration form has checkboxes for MailPoet newsletters that the user can choose from. I want to have these choices shown inside the user’s profile (ProfileGrid).

So far, I do not see the checkboxes in the user’s profile, so they can change their selections later.

    Questions:

    1. How can I display the newsletter checkboxes in the profile?
    2. How can I add the newsletter selections from the user into the WordPress Users list, so that they become part of the database?

    Many thanks!

    Hi @commontater,

To enable the “MailPoet” newsletter in a profile, you need to activate the “Enable MailPoet” option and the “Enable MailPoet Tab” option. These settings can be found under “Group Options >> MailPoet” for a group. Once you enable this configuration, members of that group will see the “Newsletter” tab under the “Settings” tab on their profile page.

You can choose specific mailing lists for a group in the group options, allowing group members to subscribe only to those lists. The ProfileGrid MailPoet integration works only with registered users on the site. If you are using RegistrationMagic forms for registration, you will need to enable the “Enable WordPress User Account Creation” option found under “RegistrationMagic >> Form Dashboard >> General Settings” in the dashboard for group registration.

    Hi, @registrationmagicsupport ,

I checked the link provided, but didn’t get much out of it. The screenshots don’t have instructions. Also, it appears some screenshots were out of date. The Mailpoet fields were under a separate link.

In my default group, I have enabled Mailpoet, and selected each of my 4 Mailpoet lists to show on the front end. The 4 check boxes now appear on the registration form.

I went to Registration Magic >> All Forms >> Dashboard (under the Registration form) >> then finally General Settings. Enable WordPress User Account Creation is already “ON.”

HELP! – On the Group Manager > Default Group > Profile Fields Manager, I accidentally clicked Delete Section on the main sign-up fields. How can I get those back?

Hi again. I was able to recreate the field in the default group profile fields manager. Also was able to find the switched mentioned.

    Many thanks!
