Hello, as I understand it this plugin requires the users to be registered and logged in, is that right? I’m looking for a way to integrate a payment solution for some weekly content on my site but I do not want to turn it into a membership site.

I basically just want to sell a password to the posts that are using a content protector, and the password would ideally be shown on screen after a successful purchase and sent as confirmation through e-mail.

Yes, that is correct, a user must be logged in. To be honest, I am not sure there is anything out there that would sell passwords to a specific post without having a user account. I think it would be extremely tough too, because unless you want every post to have the same password, meaning anyone that buys post A, the password is ‘postAPassword’, it will be a large programming effort to generate passwords associated with an order id, and then store them in the database.

In theory, you could probably use the Order Reference number given by the credit card processor and then make that a password for a post…. hurm… that is an interesting idea… unfortunately I do not have any time in the near distant future to develop this, but would be interested in keeping in touch with you and collaborating on some ideas about it.

So in the end this plugin will probably not be what you are looking for.
