    I have reinstalled jetpack on two sites and both are failing to reconnect to jetpack services “The registration secrets sent by your site do not match the ones the Jetpack server has on record.”. Both sites just show “Unknown Error” when I enter them into the jetpack debug tool. Do their secrets need clearing on jetpack end so I can re-register them?

    Hi @cmatrwilliams

    Looking at your two sites, they both seem to have a security layer that is preventing them from loading properly. When I look at the connection I can see:

    x-backend-server: stackprotect

    This is shown in headers sent by your server. When I try to load the page in the browser, there is a JavaScript bot check that displays before loading the site. This is causing the error with the Jetpack connection.

    If this is a plugin, please disable it. If it is a server-level security measure, please reach out to your hosting provider and ask them to disable it.

    Ask them to check their security logs for any blocked requests to the /wordpress/xmlrpc.php file on your site, using the Jetpack by WordPress.com user agent.

    If they only offer XML-RPC access by allowing IP addresses, then they will need to allowlist the IP addresses listed here:

    * https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-allowlist-jetpack-ip/

    Please note that these IP addresses could change (or more could be added) at any time. For that reason, we recommend your host uses the machine-readable versions of these IP ranges in JSON or plain text format to automate configuration changes on their systems.
