Registration process is ignoring my ‘New User Default Role’ option

Try using the UsersWP settings, instead.

Edit the Registration form to assign the role, as shown here

Sorry, I didn’t know that part of the plugin. I assigned the role there and now everything works as spected. Thank you so much.
