After activating this plugin my registration page starts to 403. When I disable it, all is well. Any ideas?

Do you have the whitelist feature active?
That feature blocks login-page-related access if your IP address isn’t whitelisted.

Otherwise it is probably one of the other firewall rules. Do a couple of tests by disabling one rule at a time to find which one it is.

Aha! It would appear it was the “Bad Query Strings” option under “Additional Firewall Rules”. Any reasoning for that?

There is probably a certain string in the query parameters of your URL which is triggering those rules.

In your case you can leave “Bad Query Strings” rules disabled or you can modify them by figuring out which string is causing the trigger and pasting the modified rules in the custom rules section.

In general if you had to choose only one set of firewall rules to have enabled, it would be the 6G rules because they are the best all-round .htaccess firewall rules.
