• No matter what theme I have activated, all the ‘register’ links refer back to the main sites registration page.

    -WP 3.0
    -Buddypress on Maine site
-Domain Mapping plugin to subsequent sites

1)My question, Is this default behavior due to the shared database?

2)How do I change it so each page has it’s own registration page?

    1) Yes

    2) Not really. Everyone signs up on the main site, and permissions filter down from there. They’re only a subscriber on your main site, which gives them access to BuddyPress.

Is there something specific you need?

This is my first go around with WP Multisite. I think maybe I’m wanting to use it for something it is not really designed for. I run a lot of WP sites and being able to acess them all from the same dash is awesome and the plugin updating is even better.

These sites however, do not really have anything in common. Would really like to keep the font-ends seperate from each other.

I think it would be more than a little confusing if the user was directed to the main site from any of the others. They’d almsot certainly wonder where they are ??

So maybe it’s back to the old fashion way…

And to be clear. I’m not looking for a buddypress to propagate through all the sites…

I’m looking for users of different sites to be able to sign up for that site only…

BuddyPress kinda is on all sites, you know.

Users have to sign up on the main site and, from there, they can register per site. There are plugins that can registration, though I don’t know any off the top of my head that will redirect you per site on sign up.

Ya, I’ve learned this. THnaks for the site. I’ll sift through some plugins before making any moves.

    Thanx for the help.

Take wp-signup, make a page template from it, use on the sub sites.

Thanks Andrea. That’s what I was going to try next.

Of note, I’m 99% sure this still will have the users registered on your main-site.

Yep, but they will also be registered on the subsite, and if you remove the redirect code, you’ll stay on the subsite.

So, sorta invisible to the end user.

Andrea_r, I sort of have the same issue. Could you please tell me where exactly should I be creating wp-signup file so that my users will be registered on the sub-site and also the main site? Currently when a user registers on my sub-site he gets registered only in the main site and I have to manually give him access to the sub-sites.

I am using Multi-site user management plugin to achieve this now. Thank all.
