registration not sending password

check your default email account to see whether the emails the wordpress sent bounced or not.

Is WordPress giving you a error back?
Have you and your friend checked you junkmail?
Have you setup wordpress correctly?

A bit more info other than “Its not working” would help us help you

We have gone over everything that WP has as guidance for intallation and configuration.
We checked with my friend’s hosting service and they confirmed no problem on the server side.
We did check junkmail.
This is the first time we’ve tried a pre made blog program but we are both somewhat experienced at web design and most scripting techniques, although more with PHP and CGI-Perl than ASP…but that should have no affect setting up WP.
No error pops up.
The info is the email has been sent, but doe not arrive.
At the same time the comment counter is not advancing even though we’ve gone over the configurations/set up process a half dozen times.

1) WordPress is PHP/MySQl
2) Is mail running on the webserver? ie: can you send with mail()
3)What version of PHP/MySQL are you running and is it on Linux or Windows?

yeah, a bit more info on the version of WordPress you are installing, the PHP version, type of server etc. is always helpful to those who try to give/suggest solutions.

there might be a PHP error which might not be displayed if the error reporting is turned off!!
