• I have had to completely reinstall my wordpress to my webspace due to my stupid hosting company cocking everything up!!!! Had no troubles before but now its all gone to pot. I have read all the posts regarding other people having this issue but none of the fixes work for me. I need this resolving as lost alot of member accounts.

Basically when users register no email is received, on contacting my hosts this is what they said:

This appears to be a scripting error. I have removed and added scripting to make sure it’s not a server error.

Please check your scripting to make sure it’s referencing a mailbox that exists on the domain. If not then you need to change the scripting or create than mailbox.

The following link may also help:

    https://www.fasthosts.co.uk/knowledge-base/?article_id=70

They then stated that the sendmail fucntion was enabled on the server and also stated Sendmail will work fine as long as I send to or from a valid mailbox that resolves to then, which they checked and the email address I set up with them does resolve to them.

I am at a complete loss now as I am sure this all worked before they moved me from windows to linux….

Any help would be deeply appreciated

    ANyone?

I am having this same problem. No registration emails go out. Now, my host has a different mail server for outgoing emails, so I went into the database via phpmyadmin and in wp_options I changed mailserver_url, mailserver_login, mailserver_pass and mailserver_port to match exactly what my host says should be the config for outgoing messages.

Was that the right thing to do? I’m wondering, cos still no emails with passwords reach any inboxes when people register.

I can’t seem to find anywhere in the wp-admin to define the mail servers for incoming and outgoing mail. Do I really have to do that via phpmyadmin?

Can anyone help out? I have no idea what could possibly be wrong.

    Cheers

    Exactly same problems with me.
    watching for solutions…
