Registration is considered spam

    just to narrow down the problem and help us debug the issue is it possible to try the following temporarily:

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

    Angelo, I should have come back here and said that I did exactly as you suggested. (I was trying to avoid it, naturally ?? ) Anyways, it turned out to be a conflict with the plugin FV Antispam.

    FV Antispam is a super plugin and it works well in tandem with Akismet. But this is not the first time I have had conflicts with it. It does not like Login with Ajax and it does not like NextGen Photogallery, either.

    Once it was deleted, all worked well. thanks for your concern.
