I have a registration form. There are a number of unexpected or undesirable behaviors. In order from most serious to least serious:
    1) we have the default for new user creation set to “Subscriber” role, but new users created via the registration form are Administrators
    2) on the Profile form, no email address field shows, even though the field is defined as privacy “Everywhere” and as “Visible everywhere”, and there is no conditional logic on its display status
    3) the “Bio” field does not seem to update; I am confused whether there is a certain Meta Key it should have; our “Bio” field has a Meta Key of “description”
    4) if (as an Administrator) I am logged into my WP website and try to show the Registration form in order to add a new user, I get a page that just says “You are already registered”

    Hi @opalcomp

    Sorry for the late response.

    1. Could you please check what Role is set in WP-Admin > Settings > General > New User Default Role?

    2. Could you please check if this issue occurs with a default theme and UM as the only active plugin?

    3. Does your site have a caching plugin or server cache module? If so, could you please try excluding the Profile/User page from the cache and see if the issue still occurs?

    4. Unfortunately, it is by design.

Thanks for writing. I did solve item 1.; there is a field in the Registration Form definition, that determines the role assigned to users created by the Registration Form. So, that is now fixed.

I will check for items 2 and 3. But it is strange that the email address cannot be seen. Maybe that is by design as well? It can be edited when the user goes to her/his account fields, so perhaps the developers want the changing of login information and email address to all be in one place.

As far as item 4, it might be called close to being a bug. I am sure there are many organizations where an administrator has the job of adding multiple users. Currently, that is quite difficult; each time a user is added, it logs the person into the new user account. And, there is no easy way to notify the user that they were added and what their password is. Can that be put as a feature request i.e. some kind of administrative user creation mode, that handles these problems?
