I am using version 2.1.21 now and it is the same problem, u can try to make an account in this website and just don’t upload your CV, I am sure it is required but it doesn’t work.

the required field is already chosen, but it passes as nothing is required while registration.

I tried it with the conditional field settings and it shows as a required field:

What happens when you remove the CV field’s conditional field settings?
Also, Have you made any customization with UM hooks?
