Registration Email no longer sent after Opt-in for Mailchimp selected

I got Mailchimp setup, API and lists seemed to be working, then I realized when i register a new user, the double opt-in works (i.e. mailchimp sends the confirmation email), but the actual email providing the user’s password never shows up.
Help?
