Registered User full woo access bug

Actually orders are taken out of the woo menu, so woo menu just needs restriction and to not show at all for this user group

Bug #2

Store vendor can add products using the Gutenberg interface, but cannot add categories already registered, though access is granted.

They can, however, add new categories, which I have restricted for this user group.

Bug #3 Attributes only show partial available options. 10 alternatives to be exact, even though there’s a lot more in there.

Bug #4: The first option is auto selected. So this needs unselecting all the time.

Bug #5 adding the 9th attribute, presents options that are not even in this attribute. Same number of alternatives that I added. In this case 2. The ones that are there are not shown.

Bug #6 Cannot add tags, even though this is allowed for this user group

Just to confirm, all the issues you listed are regarding this specific user role, right? But you are able to use WooCommerce with no issues?

Can you please share how you created the role of Store Vendor? Did you use a plugin? Which one?

Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.

Store vendor is added through the WCFM plugin. Also it adds Store Manager and Store Assistant roles. They have product capability add, edit delete own products. Also order management.

I as admin, I can grant them wp-admin access instead of the antiquated frontend interface that WCFM offer. That way they can use the Gutenberg editor for posts, products etc. Also this way they can benefit from Yoast SEO assistant and more.

So as Store Vendor, when I go to wp-admin everything is quite good, but as mentioned, when they go to the Woocommerce menu, they have full access to all setting in my Woocommerce. Woo in menu, should simply not show. See my first link above.

So they need access to their side of woo, but not my side settings of the Woo engine such as mail, vat, payments, store address, etc.

In report I can see:

This I dont get:

Copy the default template from?wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/[path-to-the-template]?and paste it in your theme folder found at?wp-content/themes/[path-to-theme].

Should I copy the outdated template into the theme? Path to theme is that inside twentytwentyfour folder? Or inside tt4/template folder? or inside tt4/woocommerce folder?

Regarding the template issues, before trying the steps on the guide, can you please make sure everything on your website is updated (the theme, all plugins, etc)?

Can you also please try deactivating Kadence Blocks – Gutenberg Blocks for Page Builder Features: by Kadence WP – 3.2.22 and checking if the issue persists?

WCFM does not support this forum at all, and they haven’t for years 2019’ish. They have been notified by mail, but do not take ownership. I agree it’s in this department the problem lies.

Question is if Woo can/should do anything? I would say it’s vital that no-one unauthorized get’s to these settings. I would suggest creating a function that removes Woo from admin menu for everyone unless actively authorized by admin. That means any role unknown to WP or Woo does NOT have access. Then plugins can within them call this function to clear users based on admin settings in the plugin. If not these roles are restricted even if wp-admin is granted to them.

After deactivating kadence blocks vendors still have full woo access from wp-admin….

I understand that it is frustrating they aren’t helping you, and we recommend not using plugins that have not been updated/supported for long.

Regarding your suggestion, it makes total sense and in fact, this is how it already works. The issue in this case is that the third-party plugin seems to be granting access to that user role. So there’s nothing we can do on our end.

I suggest using a different plugin to create new user roles. We have one on our market place we recommend, User roles editor. But you can also search for other third-party option, if you prefeer.

I don’t think that the template errors are related to the user-role issue.

My suggestion was regarding solving the template errors you found.

They sort of help by mail, but when every plugin developer pulls support to their proprietary process, it becomes super tedious and time consuming for any user of the plugin…

Anyways, as always for wcfm, this problem is caused by not installing Elementor and not buying their integration to Elementor. Problem is, I don’t install Elementor… period!

I deactivated Kadence blocks aand checked status report. Errors are the same. Can you please clarify… Templates should be copied into where in the case of Twenty Twenty 4 theme. It’s unclear in you manual. Thank you.

I understand your frustration with WCFM. If you’re open to it, there are other marketplace plugins available on Woo.com that might better meet your needs and offer more robust support. For example, the Product Vendors plugin is a popular choice and is fully integrated with WooCommerce.

Regarding your template issues, to override WooCommerce template files in your theme (or child theme) and not lose your changes during an update, you need to make a woocommerce directory within your theme directory, and then place the edited template file in that directory.

In your case, with the Twenty Twenty 4 theme, the path would look something like this: wp-content/themes/twentytwentyfour/woocommerce/ and then place your template file within this directory.

For example, if you’re overriding the cart template, you’d place your cart.php file at wp-content/themes/twentytwentyfour/woocommerce/cart/cart.php.
