Let me first say thanks for creating such a light, simply and effective referral plugin. All other are robust and complicated with loads of features many sites do not need.

I was wondering if you could find a little time to update plugin with a shortcode which will display usernames of members who have been registered using referral link of a member. So no any kind of dashboard or complicated overview that would require a lot of your time but simple shortcode for listing only. As I can see at the moment there is only shortcode to display number of users being registered using referral link.

I am aware that there are action hooks within documentation but I am not so tech/coding guy so I have no idea how to use them. By looking at youtube tutorials it seems I will need days to figure out how to write them while I am pretty much sure you can write that piece of code in less than 15 minutes.

Hopefully you will also keep confirming/updating plugin compatibility check with latest WP version so many other WP users who need such light members referral solution like this one is will be using it (being compatible with latest WP).

Looking forward to see your reply.

    1. Shortcode exist. I have it displayed as admin as well as a site member.

    2. [wp-referral-code var=”ref_link”] returns my custom registration link only.

    3. [wp-referral-code var=”copy_ref_link”] Does not work neither (having only box with the icon)

Should i try to reinstall plugin?

And a quick question. Is there any maximum expiration limit of the link? I would like to have it eternal so when i share it with someone it can be used as affiliate link and that 3rd site/person can refer members as long as thier users are clicking the link and coming to my site. In my case I have placed a number that equals 10 years.

    An important update:

I have tried to manually add ?action=register&ref=”generatedrefcode” to my custom registration link and register a new user using the link – it works! Newly registered user is listed in the referred users. To be precise, new user is listed even before confirming/activating his e-mail address but better something than nothing (i am using ultimate member plugin, free version since still i can not afford premium one)

Until having better solution I will have to be satisfied with this one. That being said, I will not be using shortcode to create reg ref link in the future but will manually create registration referral link for each member and will find an place/page to display it. Hopefully link will be active/valid as long as i have placed hours in the settings (87500, 10 years).

Of course, I’d be more than happy that we correct the issues I have and use the shortcodes.

Correction to my last post. Ooooh boooy LOL

I just realized that I will not be able to create ref links on my own since i can’t login to other members account and therefore I can not see their referral code meaning I can not create referral link on my own per each member.

Definitely I will need to solve generating link issue ??

the link is permanent. this is what the option does: let’s say a user hits a referral link but doesn’t register right away. maybe he browses the site for a couple of hours or leaves the site and comes back after some time and then registers. you can set that delay with this option. if the user registers after 10h his registration won’t count in the referral system. for this feature, the plugin uses browser cookies to save refer code and later capture it to find out who has referred this user. I’ll change the option’s title. it seems misleading.

To be precise, new user is listed even before confirming/activating his e-mail address but better something than nothing

    check this out link

I can not see their referral code

you can actually, wp-admin->users->chose a user-> wp referral section.

regarding your issue, can you share your registration link? (you can email it to me if you don’t want it to be public [email protected]) seems like your link have something special in it. i can’t think of anything else at this point.

Since link is permanent 24h seems reasonable amount of time for a person to register. I mean what are the chances that he clicks the link and then does not complete registration. Why would he/she be clicking it unless being ready and decided to register.

I will add that code to functions and test it to confirm that it is working.

Woohooo. Not just that there is a referral code at the user (it’s bellow other user details and anyway I haven’t check there at all so I have missed it) but there is also correctly generated ref reg link using my custom chosen page url. I have no idea why than it is not being correctly pasted when using shortcode.

Regarding my reg link I will send you an e-mail (by the way it’s not special link at all, actually it is a dumb one but looks better than wp login bla bla). Thanks a bunch ??

So the final update, in case other users will have similar issue like i did.

Guilty one for the issue is WPBakery Page Builder. Correct referral link was not displayed in the front end because of it. After disabling it, correct reg ref link has been shown. However….

Friendly copy box was working from the start but due to my unwary (not to say stupidity) I thought it was not working since there was no link shown next to it.

I’d like to thank you for the spent time while looking for the issue which was at my end. Yet, I would not found it without your answers, suggestions and hints thanks to which I have located it and discovered solution.

As being already said, you made really awesome member referral plugin and I am sure there will be more and more users using it. Especially knowing how much network & affiliate marketing can help in any kind of business.

    Marking this as solved.
