• In reference to register_globals = On
I’m a bit confused. Is this necessary “only” for the install of WordPress? Reason I ask is that I was having some trouble on the server and I disabled all .htaccess that had register_globals = On to OFF, restarted and verified with a phpinfo.php and found it to be OFF serverwide.
    WordPress still works flawlessly!
I run a Plesk 7.02/Fedora Core 1 box fully updated with all patches through today.
There are three copies of php.ini on the box
    /etc/php.ini
    /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/php.ini
    /usr/local/Zend/etc/php.ini
and each one has register_globals OFF (again, verified with a phpinfo.php).
With that said, what is the purpose of this being turned ON for WordPress?
Granted, this isn’t a problem, or at least I don’t think it is. I just wanted a little more clarification.
    Thanks a bunch.
