I would like to prevent users from filling out the username field. If (sl) users are created outside wp-usertable the given emailaddress should be sufficient. Is it possible to hide that field?

Maybe two suggestions for future development:

    1. It would be great if the username (if needed) will be shortened in a (predefined) form like ‘YYYYMMDD-number+1’ that is automatically created when users register at first time. Thus it would be much more easier to get an overwiew in the admin panel (history).

    2. The sidebar widget should offer an register option beside the login.

    Kind Regards
    Wolfgang

A minor thing just noticed: all three seplog_tables are created without db ‘wp_PREFIX’!

Hi Wolfgang, thanks for your notes.

This plugin allows user to login through username or email (and, of course, password), therefore username has to be provided during registration process. Obviously this behaviour is a merely personal choice, not a mandatory process.

I agree that a registration option into widget should be present, so I’ll try to keep it in mind for a further release.

About wp_ prefix in table names, as far as I know, it isn’t required by plugin development rules, but it can be a good idea to use it.

    Hi Christian,

afterwards I’m not sure if it would be ‘smart’ to show a registration option inside the login widget – as the plugin automatically generates user accounts. So maybe it would be better to offer a separate registration page (what the plugin already does). Maybe two different widget types will do it.

I hoped that username option could have been disabled. I want new users to login with their e-mail addresses, but this isn’t a big issue.

WP prefix would be helpful in phpmyadmin because it shows at first sight to which wordpress installation the plugin belongs.

    Regards
    Wolfgang
