    Hi,

    Great and easy plugin!

When I try to register a new key with “Register New Key“, it loads forever and does not do anything. I am on version 0.4.0. Like this:

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

    Kind regards
    Erik

    In addition:

I’ve did some basic troubleshooting: tried 2 different WordPress installations, disable all active plugins and theme etc.

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks for this awesome plugin!

@erikmolenaar Did you try tapping the button on the key after initialising the device registration? Is the light flashing on the device?

Finally, could you please check the browser console for any error messages?

    Hello,

I just purchased a Yubikey 5 Nano, and attempted to register the security key. I click “Register New Key,” and the key starts to flash, I tap it, the browser refreshes, but the key is not added.

I checked Chrome’s developer tools, and there are no errors.

Apologies, it seems that there was an issue on the site that I was trying to use it on. It works on other sites fine.

@kasparsd Yup, it is generating the textual line correctly. I have a Yubikey 4 which is supposed to be FIDO U2F compatible. Can you confirm this is a compatible key?

Chrome console does not show any errors.

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

@erikmolenaar Yes, I’m using Yubikey 4 myself and it works as expected.

Chrome console does not show any errors.

Could you please check the browser console for any errors or messages?

    Hi @kasparsd

I don’t see any errors in the browser console.

I also tried another browser and another website.

I hope you don’t mind that I took the liberty to create an admin account for you at this website and have emailed you the credentials.

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

Hi @erikmolenaar! Thanks for creating the account.

I was able to register two different keys on your website for my profile:

    Screenshot of keys registered

So it appears to be an issue on your side.

    Hi @kasparsd,

    Thanks for having a peek!

Could it be a focus problem? Is it possible to show an actual input field where I can focus on before pressing the Yubikey to input the keyboard simulated code?

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

@erikmolenaar Oh, FIDO U2F doesn’t use any codes — the browser communicates directly with the Yubikey when you touch the exposed area on the key. Make sure the key is not in the One-Time Password mode when using it as a FIDO U2F key.

    Hi @kasparsd,

    That’s it ??

Perhaps my follow up question goes beyond your plugin support, but because you also have a Yubikey 4: how did you enable yours to FIDO U2F? (can’t find it in the Yubikey documentation).

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

@erikmolenaar I think it is enabled by default. See this article for some additional ideas.
