Register Fields don't really work

Hello,

I am having a problem with the register fields

If a user registers using [vp_edd_membership_form], the username, and password fields are ignored. It doesn’t matter what you put in them. The user gets an email with a password that wordpress assigns and it make their email address their user name.

Why have the fields here if they aren’t used?

Is there a way to make the fields actually work?
