I have installed WP encrypt on Google Cloud Compute Bitnami stack (using the google cloud console installer not the bitnami one) onto wordpress mu

I have followed the bitnami wiki on setting up lets encrypt using this plugin and am now at the wordpress stage.

As soon as i attempt to register a let encrypt account through worpress i get the following error

Could not create directory /opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/letsencrypt/live/account for private key. please check your filesystem permissions.

When i check using filezilla, the current permissions for WordPress/letsencrypt are as follows

    drwxr-xr-x bitnami:daemon

What permissions typically are needed for this to work on a bitnami stack?

Do i need to make a new group and add my wordpress user to it as well as the daemon? Or should i configure installation so that bitnami is the wordpress user?

I thought i had just simply gone with a default bitnami install…so i am not sure what i have done wrong

I ended up doing a bit of a search on what users and groups are active on the server with bitnami stack in question.

there is a group called bitnami_admins and a bitnami user who belongs to that group.

I added the <user> that is associated with my ssh tunnel (to enable sftp access to google cloud compute using filezilla) to the bitnami_admins group. I also previously added my <user> to the daemon group as well (but will probably remove this now).

    anyway, problem is now solved.
