I’m trying to regenerate images to delete old ones. It didn’t seem to be doing anything, but then I found the legacy option. That appears to work, but they’re not being deleted from the server.

It also seems to freeze up a lot.

    Hey @jodzeee! ??

Perfect Images optimizes which thumbnails to generate, helping to reduce server resource usage, especially during bulk processing. The legacy method relies on WordPress core functionalities, which deletes and recreates everything at once—an intensive process for the server, not suitable for bulk processing.

The primary goal of Perfect Images is to manage image sizes and optimize thumbnails. If you’re looking to clean out your media library, I recommend using Media Cleaner, which is specifically designed for that purpose.

Regarding the “freezing” issue, could you provide more details? Does it happen in a specific browser, or during a particular type of usage? Thanks!

It’s probably because I was trying to regenerate too many at once … like you said, it’s an intensive process for the server. However, even when I do it, it’s not deleting them. I’ll use the the Media Cleaner instead, but I did like the simplicity of deleting and regenerating using this plugin.
