To troubleshoot some admin access error issues I was getting, I disabled my old .htaccess file & created a new one through the “permalinks” section of my WP admin. I also disabled & deleted wordfence and then re-installed it. The access error issue is fixed now, but Wordfence has not re-done the changes it needs to the new .htaccess file, and so I am showing a vulnerability there.

How do I trigger the setup process again so this is fixed?

Hello @alkemi and thanks for opening a new thread!

Usually, if you head over to Firewall > Optimize the Firewall, it should go through the normal set up procedure. If this isn’t an option, Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

Ill have a look at what we need to set.

    Thanks!

Thanks- I don’t see any “Optimize Firewall” option anywhere there. But, I did click on the issue listed in the scan results, and “hide file” option. Then it took me through downloading a backup of my htaccess, and now I see a new bit of code in the htaccess file, looking like what I saw in your helpfiles somewhere.

So does that mean I’m set up again, just through a different set of links? Thanks!

That would be the optimization wizard that you were seeing. Sounds like you were in the correct place. If you go to the Firewall page, what percent are you seeing on the firewall?

You could also send the diagnostic and I could see if its set correctly.

    Thanks!
