• Hi all,

    Regarding the upgrade procedures:

    No. 1. Delete /wp-admin/ folder.

    No. 2. Delete /wp-includes/ folder.

No. 4. Delete all the wordpress files in the root directory where the root index.php file is found

If you proceed with No. 4., why do we need to execute No. 1. and No. 2 ? since both /wp-admin/ folder and /wp-includes/ folder reside in the root directory as well.

    Thanks

  • No. 4 says delete all FILES, not all files and FOLDERS. The root contains the CONTENT folder which you shouldn’t delete.

Thats written under the assumption that the reader calls a directory a directory and a file, a file.

Those that are familiar with Linux understand that a directory is, in Linux-speak, a file. The average user does not.

Additionally, and more importantly, the above is not the case in an IIS setup.

The end goal is just to make sure that people delete the damn stuff, and not worry about the semantics.

that too. Youre not sposed to dele wp-content/
