@gunjanpatel Yes, the image you add here is what will be shown for the page if you share it through a link or messenger.

Okay! Currently our website is considering image URL in meta tag (“og:image”) from AWS s3 bucket and it is not showing image preview link while sharing link on messanger.

Can you let me know any further action required on Facebook or AWS side?

    Regards,
    Gunjan

@gunjanpatel Although the image URL is from the AWS s3 bucket, we expect a preview to appear on the sharing link.

It would be really helpful if you could send us the relevant page/post URL where the issue is appearing.

In addition, you might need to force update Facebook’s cache of that page. To do that, go to the Facebook debug tool, enter the URL you wish to update and click scrape again.

It appears the image specified appears smaller than the Facebook recommended size as mentioned here. To confirm, would you please try and upload a little big image size and see if this resolves. You may need to scrap the URL multiple times to clear the Facebook cache to see the updated result.

    Hello @suascat_wp

I have tried with different resolutions (600*315) & (1200*630) as given in FB document https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/images/. But still not showing any effect.

In FB debugger tool, I got error like “The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id”. (Attached screenshot https://prnt.sc/10cv46i)

So app id meta tag will require right ? (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/#markup)

Thanks for sharing the relevant information with us. Facebook App ID no longer requires thus, removed from the Yoast SEO plugin recently. So, the warning you’re seeing is a false positive.

That said, we can confirm that Yoast SEO is generating the og:image meta correctly as expected that includes the https://fly5.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/04110423/plane3.jpg image URL as expected.

In addition, we can confirm that the Facebook crawler is crawling the relevant image as well but somehow, the debugger still not showing the image in the preview which is very odd.

In this case, can you please try adding a different image or even on a different page to see whether this shows the image correctly for you?

If not, can you please try adding an image from a different host and not from the AWS S3 Bucket to see whether this resolves the issue for you?

If the issue persists, we are afraid to say that you’ll need to reach out to the Facebook team to see if they can show some light on this.
