Refused to apply style from 'https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/siteground-optimizer-assets/siteground-optimizer-combined-css-6429f02d4427186f5523518d5f0664b0.css' because its MIME type ('text/html') is not a supported stylesheet MIME type, and strict MIME checking is enabled.

I am reporting this issue, several pages would not load the combined SG Optimizer CSS because of the error above.

    My environment:

    • Cloudflare: Auto Minify HTML (Not minifying CSS or JS).
    • SG Optimizer: Dynamic Caching, Memcached, NOT Minifying HTML, Minify JS, Minify CSS, Combine CSS.

What solved it: I tried clearing all of the SiteGround Caches. This didn’t solve it. I then Purged the Cloudflare cache. That solved my issue.

I am hoping that this does not reoccur. I can’t really tell if SG Optimizer or Cloudflare is the source of this issue.

Remove all other optimization plugins including the Cloudflare ones. That’s a conflict with them. Clearing caches doesn’t really solve anything, it just regenerates the assets but if they fail to generate properly that problem will happen again in the long term. So, use just the SGO plugin without other performance plugins and you will be fine.

Just a quick follow-up question. In Cloudflare Speed Optimization, should I disable the “Automatic Platform Optimization for WordPress” setting? This setting relies on the Cloudflare plugin I just disabled.

Yes, disable all of them. They are just duplicating functionality. I don’t think it relies on the plugin, their plugin is just a connector to the services. Most probably they aren’t clearing the chaches or regenerating assets or something like that.
