• Hello,

Your plugin looks great but we’re looking for a particular feature. Is your plugin able to refund VAT after users have made a purchase? We often have EU customers who paid VAT at the checkout and later ask us to refund the VAT. We need a way to enter their VAT number and then refund their VAT.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks,

    Jake

@jakebrumby You can perform refunds via your wordpress site but you would need to know the VAT amount to do it. It would basically be like any other refund, but for the VAT tax amount. You can always put the VAT number in the refund reasons note.

    Kind Regards,
    Clayton

Thanks for reply, though making a note on the order is not the required solution.

For accurate EU VAT accounting that the refund is applied only to the VAT amount. For example, if the original WooCommerce transaction had been recorded like this:

    Product: $50
    VAT (20%): $10
    Total paid: $60

After refunding $10 VAT, the Woocommerce transaction should be updated to this:

    Product: $50
    VAT (20%): $0
    Total paid: $50

Only if the records for the order are accurately updated can we export the order details to be used for the mandatory 3-monthly MOSS and EU Sales List VAT reporting.
