    Hi, team!

I am working on setting up a woocommrece refund. There is a 20% VAT for the amount. So when a user makes a purchase, the total payment is calculated by adding 20% with tht Subtotal ex VAT.

Now, if I’m giving a refund, this refunded amount is deducted from the final total amount, not from the subtotal.

Even if I click the “Recalculate” button, nothing changes?

Is this how the WooCommerce refund works?
I would like to change this calculation and deduct the refund amount from the Subtotal before calculating the VAT.

Could someone please help me to sort out this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there @noobieboy ??

Thank you for contacting Woo support!

First, apologies for the delay. We have seen a recent influx of tickets and are currently working through a backlog.

From what I gather, you are facing calculation issues with the refund amounts at your store. Correct?

Is this how the WooCommerce refund works?

Let’s first clarify that the payment options that come with WooCommerce core are Cash on Delivery (COD), Check Payments, and Direct Bank Transfer (BACS), as per the official documentation, linked here.

Therefore, the refund can be made either automatically, or manually, depending on what the active payment gateway(s) support. Feel free to check out the related documentation on this.

What is the payment gateway currently in use at your store? Did you already have a chance to get in touch with their support channel?
