Refresh random order?

    Great plugin, thank you for your work on it.

    I’ve been using it to display a ‘from the archives’ selection of posts based on a ‘featured’ category. I’ve set the order to random and the intention is that random posts from that category display in the sidebar. I only recently noticed, though, that the displayed posts seem to be fixed and never change when pages are reloaded or even if different pages are loaded. I’m using your latest version.

    I’m pretty sure that previous versions did display a random order and that different posts showed up for each page load.

    Is this a bug or a deliberate change of behaviour for the plugin, or is it perhaps somehow caused by my host, WP Engine?

    Hello,
    have you activated the “Cache” option? It’s a recent feature.
    To make sure that it’s disabled, enter 0 in the relevant field of the widget admin panel, save the widget, and test the results.

    I’ve tried that now and it is still the same posts that are being displayed all the time.

    Take a look at this site: the widget “Tag letture” in the sidebar displays 3 posts taken randomly from the “letture” tag.

    Try disabling one plugin at a time, except Posts in Sidebar. In this test try also activating one of the default theme (for example, Twenty Twelve).

    Let me know if you find the “guilty” plugin/theme! ??
